my speech

Do you ever wonder what it’s like being the principal of Paparore School? Well, I’m gonna tell you why I should be the principal of a Paparore School.

I think every class should have a class pet for fun. I would make sure the kids have lots of fun activities in the playground and everyone should be able to go home early.

Firstly I think every class should have a class pet because a pet can calm you down when you are angry or make you happy when you are sad. Kids will have fun looking after their pet and you can name your class pet.

Secondly I would make sure that kids have lots of fun activities in the playground at morning tea and lunchtime. I will make sure there are water slides and water guns and I would open up the pool every morning tea and lunchtime to let the kids swim                                        Kids would have fun at school and they won’t be mad and they they’ll always have lots to do.

Finally I think that everyone should go home early. If everyone gets to go home early they will be able to spend more time with their family and friends and have lots of whānau fun time.

I should be principal of Paparore School.  I think every class should have a class pet for fun. I would make sure the kids have lots of fun activities in the playground. I think that everyone should be able to go home early.

What would you do if you were the principal of Paparore School?

Matariki Festival

Last Friday our kura went to Awanui School for the Matariki Festival. There was Te Hapua, Ngataki, Pukenui, Waiharara and Awanui. I saw my mum, dad, brother, friends, aunty and uncle, They were videoing us and I felt super excited. When we got up on the stage I kind of did the pukana. When the boys did the haka, it was so loud! Then it was lunch time and the hangi tasted wonderful and nice. I was so happy and proud of myself.

Plastic is NOT fantastic

Dear  Rereata,

Did you know that every piece of plastic turns into a little piece, which gets into the ocean? This is bad for the ocean and sea animals. For example, a string can get into a sea animal’s nose, which is bad because they can die! But the ocean animals are lucky that we are picking up rubbish, and I know that we can make a difference.

We’re having a rubbish competition. So far we have got 1,170 pieces of plastic rubbish. I know right! From now on please make sure you don’t leave your rubbish around in the ocean.

I think we can use metal straws, metal pegs and paper bags because we can reuse them! Please use stuff. Like this! When you see rubbish lying around, pick it up so it does not fly away, because plastic does not disappear.

I know that together we can make a difference for Papatūānuku!
